About Rajaji National Park

Rajaji National Park was established in 1983 by merging three wildlife sanctuaries: Chilla, Motichur, and Rajaji. Spread across nearly 820 square kilometers, the park extends through the districts of Haridwar, Dehradun, and Pauri Garhwal. It is one of India's finest wildlife destinations, known for its breathtaking landscapes, dense forests, rivers, and diverse wildlife.

  • Location: Foothills of the Himalayas where the Shivalik ranges meet the Indo-Gangetic plains.
  • Area: Approximately 820 sq. km.
  • Elephants: Home to more than 500 Asian elephants.
  • Wildlife: Bengal Tigers, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Wild Boars, Sambar, Barking Deer and many other species.
  • Birds: More than 315–400 bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers.
